Sebastián’s Song
An urgent request on behalf of my son:
My beautiful 2.5 year old son, Sebastián Aurelio Casaus Natale, was recently diagnosed with an exceptionally rare and aggressive cancer that has spread to his lungs. He is currently undergoing very intense treatment. This is testing everything that I know and believe in but I am holding tight to the wonders and miracles and healing that surround us everyday- particularly, the wonder that is a cell and its ability to heal itself. I asked two dear friends to each write or share a song that I could sing directly to Sebastián's cells as they begin working to clear the cancer and heal themselves. As someone whose life's work has been centered around bringing people together in different ways on different issues, I wholeheartedly believe in the power and healing that is possible through collective action. So, I am directly asking each and every one of you to join me in singing a song to my son, so that we could make a collective song with each of your voices, one after the other, that I could play for him every day. As a mother and parent, there are a million ways we will desperately fight for our children. I am asking you to be part of one of mine.
Below are two audio files to the two short songs along with the written lyrics. I'm asking if you could please record yourself singing one or both of these songs or a different song of your choosing. Please sing as you would sing it to a child, as you would sing it to my son's cells. It does not have to be a special recording. It can be as simple as just recording into your phone.
You are also welcome to add a verse or record an instrumental version or write and sing your own or different song that can be added to these.

If you make a recording of two songs please attach them as two different files. My dear friend, Dalit, will be receiving your recordings and has been compiling them together to create one long song, Sebastián's Song. As more people send recordings, the song will be updated. Since October 2021, we have been playing his song for him nearly every day.
While this song has been initiated for my son it is for all of us, as it is a co-creation of all of us for healing.
