Tissue Donation
Your tissue donation can accelerate MEC cancer research.
Cancer research, particularly for rare cancers like MEC, depends upon donations of tumor tissue in order to find safe, less toxic treatments and develop a cure.
Leftover fresh tissue donations, whether from a surgery, a biopsy, or even a fluid drain, gives researchers an invaluable resource to develop what is called a “model”: a genetic copy of the cancer. These preclinical study models, like cell lines and mouse models, are critical for evaluating the safety and efficacy of experimental treatments.
Donating archived pathology slides from prior surgeries and patient-specific genetic sequencing data can also facilitate important insight and analysis into the genetic workings of the disease.
